Where does the Hitlist Rating come from?

Unlike some other gaming sites, we don’t employ a group of “experts” to review games. We rely on the feedback of REAL GAMERS LIKE YOU to determine which games rock and which ones suck - players who spent their own money to buy and precious free time play the games they love. In other words, serious FPS players.

The Hitlist Rating is determined by a complex formula that uses a bunch of factors, including:

• Recommendation Votes by Shooter Hitlist gamers (most important!)
• Activity on the game’s ranking page on this site (number of visits, comments, votes, etc - any actions gamers like you make about a game)
• Unit sales of First Person Shooter titles (as provided by manufacturers and retailers)
• The relative number of times the game name appears in Google searches (for the previous month)
